Insight Day at McLaren
At McLaren Group we believe diversity and inclusion is a core driver of our performance and success for the future. Ensuring young women see STEM as an attractive and rewarding career choice is an important part of our recruitment strategy.
This month we welcomed a group of female undergraduates to the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC), to give them an insight into the different types of careers on offer throughout the organisation.
Formula 1, the wider engineering sector and the technology sector are all in need of greater female representation, something McLaren is committed to playing a full role to address.
During their visit, the group heard from a range of women across the group, from some of our graduates to senior women, including Dr Caroline Hargrove, Chief Technology Officer at McLaren Applied Technologies.
The day also included a taste of life at McLaren Racing, with the group taking part in a pitstop challenge. Finally, the group were given a tour of the MTC, enabling them the chance to explore their potential future workplace.
Last week’s Insight Day is a small part of the work we do to encourage more female engagement, promote a representative workplace, and benefit our our employees and business.
